Welcome to REACH
with Mrs. St George!

 

REACH is the name given to the district program for the Gifted and Talented students. The program is designed to provide challenge and enrichment activities for students with exceptional abilities. The major goal of REACH is to help our most able individuals realize their potential.  A child may be referred for the REACH program by their classroom teacher, and with parental permission, will be tested for possible placement.

 How do I Get Into REACH?

 

Teachers and parents recommend students for the REACH program in the spring of each school year.  The screening process for REACH includes a structured observation, math problem solving, a writing sample, and a timed aptitude test. Information about the student is also obtained from the classroom teacher and the child's parent(s). Together, these allow us to evaluate the child and determine whether he/she demonstrates a need for the challenges offered through the Reach program.
